The original word game played with the Latin prefix sin- that means sine, without, in several Spanish words and prefix sin- (syn-) from Greek that means together. Obviously this word game just work in a few Romance languages.
Instead of it, a reference to the MGM dystopian film «Soylent Green» was created. People in a close future needed to generate their own electricity through bicycle dynamos. Humanity in this film shared a hard-to-digest destiny.
